Terms of Service

1. What MIC Is (and Is Not)

Meridian Insurance Company ("MIC") is a free, community-operated goodwill service for Star Citizen players. MIC is not a licensed insurance company, financial institution, or registered business entity. No real-world money is involved in any transaction. All reimbursements are made in Star Citizen's virtual currency (aUEC).

MIC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cloud Imperium Games (CIG), Roberts Space Industries (RSI), or any of their subsidiaries. Star Citizen is a registered trademark of Cloud Imperium Rights LLC.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use MIC.
• You must have a valid RSI account that is at least 30 days old.
• You must verify your RSI identity through our verification process.
• You must not be banned or disabled on MIC.

3. How Claims Work

• Claims must represent genuine aUEC losses caused by verified in-game bugs.
• Every claim must be linked to a valid Issue Council report (STARC issue) that you created or contributed to.
• Claims are reviewed at the sole discretion of MIC administrators.
• Approved claims are reimbursed at the current coverage rate.
• Reimbursement is not guaranteed. MIC reserves the right to approve or deny any claim for any reason.
• Reimbursement is subject to fund availability.
• Claims must be filed within 7 days of the incident.

4. Prohibited Conduct

The following will result in claim denial and may result in account ban:

• Filing false, fabricated, or exaggerated claims.
• Submitting claims for losses not caused by bugs (e.g., PvP losses, player error, intentional destruction).
• Using multiple accounts to file duplicate claims.
• Submitting misleading or fraudulent evidence.
• Linking Issue Council reports you did not create or contribute to.
• Attempting to manipulate or circumvent fraud detection systems.
• Any form of harassment toward MIC administrators or other users.

5. Account Security

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• Repeated failed login attempts may result in your account being temporarily or permanently locked.
• MIC administrators may suspend or disable accounts at their discretion.
• If you are locked out of your account, contact support for assistance.

6. Community Tips

Tips submitted to the Community Tips section are reviewed before publication. By submitting a tip, you grant MIC permission to display it on the site with attribution to your RSI handle. MIC may edit tips for clarity before publishing.

7. Limitation of Liability

MIC is provided "as is" with no warranties of any kind. MIC is a volunteer community service and makes no guarantees regarding availability, claim processing times, or reimbursement. MIC is not liable for any loss of virtual currency, account issues, or damages arising from use of this service. The total liability of MIC is limited to the aUEC value of the specific claim in question.

8. Privacy

Your use of MIC is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we use it.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of MIC after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
